Common Questions

What type of chocolate works best?

Semi-sweet chocolate with at least 50% cocoa delivers a balanced flavor. For a richer taste, bittersweet chocolate (70% cocoa) is ideal.

How do I achieve the airy texture?

Folding whipped cream and stiffly beaten egg whites gently into the chocolate mixture preserves lightness and creates the mousse's signature airy texture.

Can I prepare it in advance?

Yes, the mousse can be made up to 24 hours ahead and chilled to maintain its texture and flavor.

What is the best way to melt the chocolate?

Using a double boiler gently melts chocolate with butter, preventing it from burning while ensuring smoothness.

How should I serve the mousse cups?

Serve chilled in small elegant cups, garnished with shaved chocolate, fresh berries, or mint leaves for a delicate presentation.
